Characters

Knowledge is the first step to enlightenment, the Ancient Masters taught. It is always useful to know more about those you read about. Who are they? Where do they come from? Here you will find little-known information on the characters making their debut in The Cirillian Flame.

Jenna Aleantha of Frethenia

Jenna_small.jpg Adopted niece of Templari Ajmar, Jenna has seen almost six Festivals of Vigor. This festival occurs once every 5 years, making Jenna 29 years old. Trefolkians can live to well over 400 years. Jenna is an accomplished Akiun Warrior, and has mastered all of the Training, except for the final lessons. The final lessons would enter Jenna into the Art of Weaving. As Akiun students progress through the ranks, there are fewer of them by a process of natural selection. Eventually only a handful remain, and these are then ‘adopted’ by one of the grand masters. Of the students who began with Jenna, only she remained. Master Grun, the head Akiun of the School at Carnath-Isia took Jenna under his wing, and became a father to her.

Hahn of Frethenia

Hahn is 12 years old, and is a remarkably mature, and cunning boy. His loyalty to Jenna is as steadfast as his morals are questionable. To Hahn the future presents numerous opportunities to create his own empire in the underworld, controlling it through fear and bribery. He has excellent insight into the weaknesses of people, and knows how to pull their strings.

Templari Ajmar

Described as a ‘barrel of a man’, the Templari rules Frethenia with and iron fist tempered by legendary wisdom. Renown for his fairness and swift action, he is widely respected throughout Trefolk. Many believe Ajmar to be the next Steward of Trefolk (Dominum). Such an idea would not be in conflict with the group of five men known as the Fraternity. These men are the true power behind Trefolk, and have their eyes and ears in every settlement.

Guardian Koltoy

Arguably the most learned historian and orator in all of Trefolk, Guardian Koltoy is seen as an eccentric, and erratic enigma that serves to define Frethenia as a centre for learning and evolution. A little known fact about Koltoy is that he is an ardent inventor, and has sanction from Truruch (The Church) to practice Wyrding.

Sorial of Frethenia

Sorial grew up in a wealthy home. Her father sits on many Circle-Sittings (Societies / Councils) and is a man of great influence. Sorial’s life lacked nothing except one thing: recognition. In the years before Jenna arrived in Frethenia, Sorial enjoyed the undisputed attentions of numerous suitors, who in time became lovers. When Jenna arrived, Sorial perceived in her confident step, defiant gaze and desirable body a threat to be reckoned with. Driven to sell her life into darkness, Sorial seeks the aid of the evil Brotherhood of Sfarr to rid her of Jenna.

Lord Kaydon

The Brotherhood of Sfarr has grown powerful in Frethenia. What better place to hatch their plots than under the very noses of Truruch, most of whose priests and initiates they control? Kaydon, leader of the Brotherhood in Frethenia, senses Jenna’s power, and realises he has a unique opportunity to destroy her and perhaps secure the future of the Brotherhood in Trefolk.
